As a Black Russian Terrier (BRT) breeder and handler I have received numerous acclamations regarding the beauty of the Black Russian Terrier. 

Why a Black Russian Terrier?

Well, let me share my own personal experience. Being from Novokuznetsk,  Siberia  Russia, I always admired BRTs for their enormous size and beauty. I fell instantly in love with these dogs. I could not afford to have a BRT back in Russia because of living conditions. 

However I always dreamt of owning one.

When I came to Canada, my husband and I were looking for a second dog to accompany our rescued Black Labrador

All About Black Russian Terriers - Working Abilities

Most of the major Kennel Clubs have have grouped the Black Russian Terrier as a working dog. One has to remember that Black Russian Terrier was bred to be a guard dog to protect the military bases and secret locations in Russia.In some countries, he is used as a police dog and since he is  a highly sophisticated intelligent dog, it makes him an excellent student at  Obedience Trials and Carting.
